access to console

I got two esx servers. One of the servers shows disconnected in Vcenter but all the VM's on the server are running smooth. Seems I gotta restart the vmware service on esx host but I can't access to service console. I'm using root and its password to connect to server via SSH but I can't connect. Am I doing wrong? How can I access to service console on esx?

Hi

What HW do you have ?

Do you have ESX ot ESXi ?

If you have remote module integrated (iLO, DRAC or IMM) you can use it, open remote console and log in to ESX locally using root password. If you don't have, connect monitor and keyboard, log in to ESX locally using root account.

After log in you shoud restart mgmt services on ESX

service mgmt-vmware restart
service vmware-vpxa restart

try one more time connect you ESX to vCenter

for me looks like your service console has peformance problems, can you upload printscreen with top running, please ?

Cheers

Artur

Do you have ESX or ESXi?

On ESXi the SSH is disable by default... on ESX the root access is disable by default.

Can you use the vSphere Client to point directly to the host?

10.1.250.10 is my Vcenter IP.

10.1.250.11 and 10.1.250.21 are esx1 and esx2 correspondingly. I tried to login 10.1.250.11 with root and its password. It says it took so long for host to respond. When I open Vcenter and reconnect the host it says network failure host could not be found. But all VM's are running ok on this host so there is no network error as I see. Point is is there any other way to access console of this esx?

Thanks to you. I plugged my keyboard and monitor then accessed to console. I also open ssh root access so I never need to go server room again:)

Step 1 is complete. I accessed to service console. When I restart the agent is stucks at Vmware ESX Host Agent. What to do next?
