You May not power on avirtual Machine in a virtual Machine

Hi

i am trying to start virtual guest machine in ESX 4 , i am using Vmware Workstation 7.1.0

while trying to start i am getting this message "You May not power on avirtual Machine in a virtual Machine"

my physical machine is AMD = AMD OPTERON (tm) processor 254 2.79 GHZ (2 processors)

on internet is suggested to add add this value monitor.virtual_exec = "hardware"

i did it but nothing happened . PLEASE help .

thanks for your reply ,

i am still in trouble , one thing i wana ask you that this configuration should be done in ESX.vmx file or inside ESX (Guest OS).vmx file

pls pls help me

You must edit the configuration in Workstation.

The property must be for the VM that rappresent the (virtual) ESXi host

Did you select "ESX Server 4" as the guest OS type for your ESX guest?
