Wiping ESX 3.0.1 server, building ESX 4 update 1

Hi all,

We have 5 ESX servers currently running 3.0.1.

Now we could upgrade the servers but we recently ran into disk space issue's so we have decided to wipe the server change the partition sizes and install version 4 update 1.

I have no 5 clear of vm's so I m just about ready to go.

My questions are there any files I should be saving before wiping the server?

Or any other advice yeah might have?

Thanks

John

You can download the VMs using Converter, and then reinstall the ESX 4.0 Update 1. After that, upload the VMs back.

You may also want to backup some config files like hosts, network, and so on, unless you want to re-configure every thing from the scratch.

Hope it helps.

Thanks, I have moved the vms off the host to another host so no need to download them.

I ll have a look for the files mentioned and back them up.

Thanks
