Windows XP vs. Windows 2008 Server on VMware

Everything about performance:

I have an Application XY, would this application perform better on Windows XP (x86) or on WIndows 2008 Server (x86) (both virtualized)

Any suggestions, evidence, performance charts?

Greetings

You want us to post performance charts for random applications? Word, Paint, SQL?!

Maybe you could tell us what kind of application you're planning to run.

Sorry I should clearify my question:

My chief belive that every application running on WinXP (VMware) is performing as on Windows Server 2008, but my intention was, that every application should run faster on Windows 2008 server, f.e. access, print spooler

I am not interested in the performance of fat client applications like "paint, calc or that..."

I hope you understand my question

In my opinion, Windows XP should run desktop applications (ie Microsoft Office and any day to day user applications). Any Server OS, like 2008, should handle server side applications, such as print services, IIS, AD....

Hope this helps.
