Windows XP LAN controller not working

I made a windows xp virtual machine and it seems the LAN driver doesn't work. It's Windows XP SP3.

Do you have vmware tools installed in the guest ?

Can you tell me which network adapter the guest is using E1000e E1000 or Vmxnet 3 ?

E1000. no tools installed. I just made an ISO that I am uploading as we speak of the tools.
