Windows 2012 R2 standard license

Hi, all

I have a question regarding the Windows 2012 R2 standard running on VMWare 5.5.

How many Windows 2012 R2 guests can run per VMWare 5.5 host for each Windows 2012 R2 standsard license we buy?

For example, if we buy 1 Windows license, can we install 2 Windows on 1 VMWare host?

You can install 2 windows 2012 guests on VMware with a standard license if your host only has 2 physical CPU sockets. If you have more then 2 physical CPUs(Sockets) in the host you will need additional licneses as each physical cpu on the host must be licensed.
