Windows 2008 R2 - stuck in reboot loop after Win updates applied

ESXi 5.1   Windows 2008 Server R2 VM

Applied normal Win update patch and now stuck in reboot loop(see screen caps attached).  Am able to boot to recovery console.  Novice(no snapshot! ); and need advice on next steps.     Thanks

I believe MS had a problem with one of its patches causing this behavior during the last patch cycle.

Google around that might be it.

I doubt its VMware related.

P.S. Now you know to take a snapshot prior to applying windows updates to your VM's "just in case"
