  • 1.  Will the Data Recovery API work with ESXi 5 free?

    I have a Barracuda backup device and would like to use it to backup my ESXi and virtual servers.  My Barracuda rep said I need the VMware Data Recovery API.  But I don't see that this is possible with the VMware free license.  Is there a "free" way to backup my VMs AND VMware?  Thanks!

    AFAIK Data Recovery API would need you to have a paid version. Follow the instructions to backup from a free ESXi http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8760
