Wibu key and VMware ESXi 4.0

Hi to all!

I need a little help with using wibu keys on VMWare ESXi 4.0. I have a virtual machine which

uses a wibu key to identify the proper use of software. I transfer the VM

(using VM Ware converter) to a file appropriate with the ESXi server and transferred

the machine to the server. Everything was OK, but the VM on the ESXi don’t want

to recognize the wibu key (so the software doesn’t want to start). It’s strange

that the VM on the ESXi doesn’t want to recognize neither an usb removable disk.

I tried to remove the VM tools but an error always occurred. (I tried from

Add/Remove programs and also tried to remove the regkey from the Windows – but nothing

happened) I also tried to update the VM tools but a message appeared and tells

me to firstly remove the old version of VM tools and after that to install the

new version.

So is there anybody who has an experience using wibu key on VMWare ESXi 4.0. And how to force

VM to detect the wibu key?

Thanks a lot in advance!

USB is not available in a guest OS. It may be possible to use USB passthrough. You can also look at network based USB hubs. Anywhere USB, Belkin and Silex.

Hm, it' was helpful, but not enough ;(

My "Configure passtrough ...." is not active. I tried to find from where I have to enable Directed I/O in BIOS, but could'nt find it (probably my machine doesn't support this). Do you have any other ideas how my VM's on ESXi to detect my WIBU-Key?
