Hi,

The main difference between "custom" images released by a vendor and "generic" images is that the former include specific tools and drivers for the hardware in use. Then there are those who use "generic" images and only add specific drivers released by the vendor and those who use the "generic" images and ignore everything else.

However, the "recommended" approach is to use the "custom" images released by each vendor or in any case then include the so-called "custom vendor add-ons". In the end, it all depends on how much you want to be supported when, in case of problems, you have to contact the technical support services.

Regards,
Ferdinando
