Why this log appear to vmkernel log ?

Spoiler

Hi,

Sometimes when I look at the ESXi vmkernel log, I find a log like a picture (on multiple sites).

However, there is nothing wrong with the vsphere environment.
Only the vmkernel log shows failed.

What kind of problem is this? If it's not important, can I prevent it from appearing in the vmkernel log?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

you can use this tool to decode what bothers you in vmkernel.log.

https://www.virten.net/vmware/esxi-scsi-sense-code-decoder/?host=0&device=2&plugin=0&sensekey=5&asc=...

It doesn't look dangerous but annoying for sure. You can consult this vmkernel record with storage vendor's support organization.

Just to add to what vmrale said, it is important to correlate which is the "faulty" device, you can see it with the naa.id just before the scsi sense error code.
