Where vMA traps sent from remote hosts are saved ?

Hi

Many articles says how easily from the ESXi host to send traps to vMA like this one

But I can not find where the traps directoryon the vMA (not ESXi host , I know it) , I did search by the community string in all vMA files , no hope.

Any Idea ?

Thanks

I am not too sure what exactly you are after. but if you are looking for those traps sent by ESXi snmp agent to snmp receiver, then vMA is not SNMP receiver, using vMA and those vicfg- commands you are just simply configuring and enabling SNMP agent in ESXi hosts.

Let's say you are using some third party SNMP receiver like SolarWind Network Monitor etc. that's where traps are being sent.

Thank you Npadmani

I am little closer , yes I can use any 3rd party here , but so far I believe my issue is with SNMP receiver configuration on vMA, although it's configured   with:

rwcommunity CommunityName 192.168.1.31

and service is running

root     13260     1  0 02:52 ?        00:00:07 /usr/sbin/snmpd -r -A -LF i /var/log/net-snmpd.log -p /var/run/snmpd.pid

vi-admin 14249 12987  0 11:52 pts/1    00:00:00 grep snmp

but testing is timing out on the vMA:

vi-admin@localhost:/etc/snmp>  sudo snmpwalk -v 2c -c CommunityName -O e 127.0.0.1

Timeout: No Response from 127.0.0.1

I need a proper basic config parameters for VMA so I activate the receiver and specify the log directory..

Thanks for help
