Where to get upgrade release bundle for 3.5 to 4.1

Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my ESX 3.5 hosts to 4.1 using the Update Manager. According to the vSphere Upgrade Guide this is upported. As far as I know, I will have to add the upgrade bundle manually to my Update Manage. But I can't find this bundle anywhere. When I access the download pages for ESX 4.1, I can only download this:

ESX 4.1 (upgrade ZIP from ESX 4.0)*

Use this package with vCenter Update Manager or with vihostupdate vCLI or esxupdate command line to upgrade ESX from ESX 4.0 to ESX 4.1.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the correct upgrade bundle?

Thanks and kind regards

You can use ESX4.1 installation ISO to upgrade from 3.5

Take a look at Upgrading ESX 4.0 to ESX 4.1

You can in first step to upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0, a second from 4.0 to 4.1.

I updated the ESX 3.5 through esxupgrade.sh + ISO, but i don't sure that this is best way

I know that I can use the 4.1 ISO for an upgrade. But I can't use this for the upgrade with the Update Manager, right?

There's no way to do the upgrade in jus one step using the Update Manager? I just thought so. I will give it a try to do the upgrade in two steps and evaluate if this is better than using the iso to do an upgrade without the UM,

Wrong. You can use it with UM.

Why? 3.5 -> 4.1 can be performed without intermediate 4.0.

Valeriy, take a look at Upgrade Guide. Do you see any mentions of 4.0 here?

Yes you are right, vSphere Upgrade Guide offers a direct way to upgrade from ESX3.5 to 4.1 based on ESX 4.1 iso file.
