Hi,
Application consultant blames the crash of the system is VMWare issue and asks me to look into the VMWare log file.
I would like to seek your advice is there any way to collect the VMware Log file for both ESXi Hosts and that particular VM ?
Your advice is sought.
Thanks

Hi,
Open the Virtual Machine folder in the Datastore. There are vmware-#.log files. vmware.log is the latest file and the vmware-8.log is the oldest archived log. You may download them and open as txt files.

Ram.

For collecting ESXi hosts / vCenter Server log file, I can click File > Export > Export System Logs from vCenter Server or using the vm-support command.
I just wonder is it necessary for me to run extra step to get the log file for a particular VM (Running Windows 2003 Server) OR the log file that collected aforementioned way already gets individual VM information collected ?

you find the VM log in the datastore where the vm is running. it's in the folder where the vm is running...
