What software to take images regularly

Hi People,

I am looking at datto product Siris Lite which essentially takes backups of your servers on a regular basis and puts it into a cloud.

Its £599 up front plus £49 per month for 250gb but essentially its a small microserver with software built in.

Can anyone give me a guide as to what everyone else is using?

I am looking to backup some flakey servers on a regular basis so that I can bring the entire lot back up in the event of a crash and new to ESXI so not sure what is available and what people recommend.

Thanks

I didn't understand. Do you take backup from your ESXi? Or your virtual servers?

Sorry... Should explain a little more.

I have used the standalone converter successfully and taken manual images to vmk files.

Ideally I would like to automate the process so that the software takes regular images of a server at various intervals (perhaps hourly or at the end of each day).

Once the image is take it would be good if I could then get it into the cloud for DR.

In the event of a DR I would then like to firstly be able to look at the local copy and at worst, recall the VM back from the cloud.

You can use VDR or VDP (VMware vSphere Data protection) for backing up your VMs on ESXi

We use Veeam. By far the best backup solution for VMs in my opinion.

Simple to use and setup and it works as advertised.
