I have a VM running Windows Server 2003 SP2. I want to convert the system partition from dynamic back to basic, so that the system partition can be extended. What would be the best way to go about this?
vSphere esxi 5 is the environment.
Its more a Windows OS question there is nothing specific to VMware here
AFAIK without deleting the volume it is not possible to convert the dynamic disk to basic disk

I know that cloning a VM will revert the partitions back to basic partitions. I was wondering whether there was another/better way to handle it. Thanks for the input though,

you can use the tools like partition magic, acronis, paragon utilities.. to resize the partition...they are too good tools...
