We've run into some odd issues with boot order on VM's with multiple SCSI controllers/drives. In prior versions of ESXi you could specify the hard drive boot order via bios.hddorder parameter. It doesn't appear to be in vmx files for VM's on ESXi 6.x. Since the bios.hddorder parameter is not used how does it know from the VMX file what drive to boot from?
My assumption would be scsi0:0 is the default no matter what order the VMX file.
