What is the interval for time sync between Linux virtual machine and ESXi host?

I have ESX5.0 with one linux virtual machine of centos6 installed on it.

After installing vmware tools to Linux virtual machine, I enabled time sync between linux virtual machine and ESXi host via vmware-toolbox-cmd.

I wonder what the time interval for time sync between linux virtual machine and ESXi host is? If I quick the OS system time, when the OS system time will sync back to the time of ESXi host?

According to http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/Timekeeping-In-VirtualMachines.pdf:

By default, the daemon checks the guest operating system clock only once per minute.

However, depending on whether the guest's time is behind or ahead the result is different. So please read (at least) the "Enabling Periodic Synchronization" section in the above mentioned document.
