Hi, friends!
I have an issue whith my Web Client - it does not display esxi hosts.
From VM summary page I can go to the host, and then all hosts are displayed on console,
but they are invisible at any wizard.
Does any one has similar experience or any clue to resolve this issue?
Hi,
Without having more info on your infrastructure it will be difficult to help you in solving your issues. But I will try to give you orientations:
Could you tell us more about your infra? (vSphere version, location of the components..)
Do you experience the same issue with the vSphere Client?
Are the WebClient and Inventory service components installed on different VMs? If yes, maybe you need to re-register the Webclient with the Inventory Service
Did you check the logs of Web client or Inventory Service?
Hope it will help,
Regards,
Michaël
I'm sorry I've forgot to mention environment details.
I have the following configuration:
4 HP blade servers in enclosure : ESXi 5.5 update 3b,
vCenter Server (5.5 update 3b), SSO, WebClient and Inventory Service are installed in one VM (2CPU x 2 core, 12 GB RAM)
Today I've updated my environment to 5.5 u3b, but the problem has already been before.
I see nothing critical in logs.
In vSphere Client all works fine.
Hi,
Thanks for your input!
Could you try to log on to the WebClient with a different user and tell me if you see them? As a best test, use administrator@vsphere.local which should have all the necessary rights to see everything in the console.
If you cannot see the host from the Webclient whatever the user you use, it's clearly coming from Inventory in Webclient.
By design VMware limits the number of objects visible in the Inventory tree (20 objects). A workaround is to display objects in categories by using the Inventory list instead. It's better explained here: VMware KB: vSphere Web Client Inventory Tree views containing at least 20 virtual machines cannot ex...
By applying this workaround you should be able to see your hosts. The result should be as you can see in the attached file

Michaël
