Want VmWare Product Suggestion for 50 Virtual Systems.

Hello Everyone

We have a IT Service business and have got a order to deploy 50 virtual systems for a office. Since i have never personally used any Virtualization product except VMware workstation i would like to know the right direction, before i contact the respected companies.

We have selected Ncomputings L300 devices for the job but here are the main problems.

1) The employees of the office should have their own desktop like a real one. means their own harddrive space, their own set of softwares. exactly like a pc. i have heard its not easy to do that in terms of virtualization on a large scale. most virtualized offices have shared desktops. Can you pinpoint me whats the best product or way to achieve this? (its like creating 50 virtual OS in Vmware workstation, installing the Ncomputings Vspace software on each of them and connecting them one by one to the hardware. isnt there a easy way out?

2)I was reading about Vcentre and Exi just now.  From what i have read, i am hopeful that they can achieve what i want. if not, i would like to know what other products should i go for

3)If i buy Vcentre, it installs itself on top of hardware or do i have to install it on top of a windows OS? and as per my requirements, should i go for the free exi or the full fledged Vcentre?

4) The office wants their employees files to be backed up to an external ftp server (local onsite) .Ofcourse there are softwares available that will sync the files from virtual Os'es  to an external ftp server but it there any integrated solution from vmware just to do the same?

5)lastly, i want to know what configuration should the host system have. do i need special server hardware or  normal pc hardware will do? and will a single gigabit lan connection will be able to handle 50 connections at full load? or should i  divide the load between 2 gigabit network controllers?

Hope to get guided in the right direction from you all

Thank you

You can also take a look at View.

VMware Horizon (with View): Desktop Virtualization & Application Publishing | United States

However, since its just 50 VMs in your case, it will be easy to do this via ESX and VC.

Also, VC is to be installed on top of a Windows OS or you can deploy the vcenter appliance.
