Wake on LAN not supported for DPM brand new HP Blades

We have bought some new HP blades - BL460c G9 with Emulex HP FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 650FLB Adapters and were disappointed to see that Wake on LAN was not supported according to vSphere so I cannot use DPM.

I've enabled WOL in the BIOS, the cards support WOL: does anyone have an idea why is vSphere saying it isn't?

Our old kit shows up as WOL supported - these are BL460c G7s with Emulex HP NS553i Dual Port FlexFabric 10Gb Converged Network Adapters.

HP performed some investigation and have confirmed it as a problem with the Operating system and driver.  "This Emulex NIC card does not have an option for Wake on LAN when Vmware Operating System is used".

Firmware is 2015.06.01 (15 Jun 2015)

Driver is 10.5.65.21

ESXi versions tested were 5.5 and 6.0
