WARNING: VisorFS: 1093: Attempt to setattr non sticky dir/file from tar mount

I am running ESXi 6.7u3 on a HP ProLiant DL385p Gen8. ESXi loads from internal SD card.

I keep on getting this warning in the ESXi logs all the time, even though I can't seem to see any negative effect from it.

I haven't been able to find any answer as to what this means or what tar mount its referring to.

Anyone wiling to share some light on the matter?

I have already read those threads.

I see no explanation to the Attempt to setattr non sticky dir/file from tar mount error in either of those.

The error just happens to be in the sections of log they have posted.

So no, I don't think you are right, unless you can explain to me what the correlation is between those two threads and this error?

I have the same issue on one host in a 4 node vSAN cluster.

Did you contact GSS??

This is only for personal use, so I can't use vmware support. (unless I pay big bucks?)

Removing VMW vib 'elx-esx-libelxima.so' fixed the issue in my case.
