W2K8 VM freezes if a mounted ISO is not removed properly

Hello

I'm running into some issues about mounting a ISO file to a Win 2008 R2 SP1 VM.

If a client is mounting the ISO with the vSphere Client and is loosing it's network connction while the file is mounted.

Then the VM is freezing for 60 seconds - no IOs, no network, nothing....

I already have a call open for this, but i'm unsure if this is happening only in my environment.

Would somone please be so kind to do a quick test of this issue?

All you need to do, is to mount a ISO file with the vSphere Client to a W2K8 VM and remove the network cable.

Then check from an other pc if the VM is still responding.

On the ESXi Host side we are on the newest build level, vCenter is still on 5.0.

Best regards

Andy

I had this problem on a iso store that was using VMFS 3. When host number 9 was added to my production Cluster the problem started, because of a limitation on vmfs 3, all though 16 hosts ar supported only 8 can access the volume at the same time, when host number 9 tried the vm died. Dont no if it helps.
