Looking for input on best methods for offsite backup/recovery for locally stored vm's as well as ESXi & VCenter config backups.
Are there easy to use native options for this or do most people use 3rd party backup solutions?

You can use VDP which comes together in vSphere Essentials Plus Kit & higher or any third party backup solutions.
You may want to look for backup solutions that leverages VADP
