These are generated in repeated intervals in the /var/log/vmkernel.log only when I do large SCP transfers of our VM-images from within an Esxcli Shell with SCP or SFTP. About 5-10 minutes into the transfer the Esxi server hangs and has to be Hard Reset. I have thus been unable to do any transfers of our vm-images to a backup server. I have even tried when the server is in maintenance mode.

Our dedicated EX4s server (with LSI MegaRaid controller) is with Hetzner.de and is thus not in the Vmware HCL - Hetzner have only indciated that their EX servers are compatible with Esxi5.1.

Are there any SR requests for the same errors or similiar issues?

Axel

can you try copying the data using vmkfstools and see if the similar error pop up?

I understood vmkfstools to be used only to convert vmdk files or create a local clone.

How do I use the command to copy to a remote FTP/SSH (non VMware) site ?
