Vsphere 5.1 - determining unused LUNS

Hi

I am trying to determine if there are any LUNs recognised in our Vsphere 5.1 environment that have not been created as datastore, in order
to delete the LUNs and free up space.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

Hi,

You have two options:

1. Provide a list from your datastores and their LUNs by PowerCLI: LUN report - datastore, RDM and node visibility | LucD notesLucD notes

2. Create a datastore from the unused LUNs and create a report by the script from that, then release from your hosts.

Well, under configuration>Storage>Add Storage>DiskLUN would list you the LUNS which are mapped to your ESX Server but not converted to Datastore
