Vmware vshpere 4. inside VMware Server

I have read a couple of threads in relationship to this but most of them were referring to VMware workstation.

http://communities.vmware.com/thread/206171

I have a laptop D620 that goes along everywhere with me. 4 gig of RAM and 200Gig drive.

Is it possible to install vmware server on it and within VMware server install vsphere since vsphere has hardware requirements. This is just for testing when hanging out at the local coffee shop. Just to familiarize myself with everything when I am reading the material. Not too comfortable in the production environment poking around. Is this something that might work.

Hi,

IMHO i wouldn't recommend you to use vmware server 2.

Try to install the workstation last version and create the vm's you need.

Then when the trial is over (60 days) you can continue using the vm's using vmware player Smiley Wink

One problem could also the be the avaible RAM...

ESXi require (for the installation) 2 GB.

vCenter Server 3 GB.

Thanks

Time to dig through the old servers and see which might support virtualization.
