Vmware Tools in one vm says unsupported

Hi

Yesterday i use the vmware converter to migrate online one vm that was running in vmware server to vmware host esxi 5.5.0,1331820 (stand alone). The migration run without problems.

After i install the vmware tools from esxi host but in vshepere clients say running (unsupported). I removed reboot and try to install again the same error.

The hardware version is 8 for this VM.

I have migrate other vms to this esx in the last days and the vmware tools are correct.

See the print screen in attachment.

How can i resolve this problem?

Regards.

Hey,

normally you will get this error when you installed the VMware Tools while the VM was hosted on another host system with another version.

An upgrade of the tools will normally help.

Can you trigger an automatic or interactive tool upgrade on that VM?

I have seen this happen when the OS is setup to 64-bit OS, rather than a specific OS like Windows 8 64-bit, something like that.

Check the VM settings and make sure this is an exact OS setup, not a generic OS.
