Hello, going to be setting up a small DR Site. Going to be using Veeam Replication to have VM's Replicate over to it.
Just trying to figure out what VMware licensing to get. I think im going to go with VMware Essentials as we are only going to need two physical Hosts to start, maybe in a couple years we might add another physical host.
There shouldn't be a need for HA/DRS as its only a DR site
What im wondering is does the Essentials Kit come with Update Manager? Not the Essentials Plus version, just Essentials.
I cant seem to find on the website product page if its included or not.
it does say it comes with VCenter Server Essentials. So im hoping Update Manager is included?
I realize im not going to have HA and Vmotion. But we will be required to keep the Hosts patched for security reasons. Since the DR site will be in another location it would be easier to use Vcenter Update manager to update the hosts. Since its a DR site the VM'w will be powered off so I don't think there should be any issues
