VmWare ESXi Client for Linux

Hello , I have a server with VmWare vSphere ESXi 4.1 (and in the future 5.1) but I used linux on my desktop.

Is there a client for Linux that would not use wine or a virtual machine with windows?

Unfortunately no. To manage single ESXi hosts there's only the vSphere Client for Windows. There's an option to connect to an ESXi host using VMware Workstation, however this doesn't provide the whole functionality.

From vSphere 5.1 with vCenter 5.1 then the webclient is the preferred client to use to interact with vSphere and vCenter.
