Vm Freeze while updating vmware tools

Hi Friends i am facing this issue  while updating vmware tools, linux machine gets hangs and i have to perform power reset to start the machine.

linux machine is very slow so i thought to upgrade

what is the VMWare Tools Version you are trying to install?

VMWare has no released VMWare Tools v10:

VMware Tools 10.0.0 Released - VMware Blogs

maybe this could resolve your problem

Hi,

Leave the version if i try to update the tools vm hangs and i not able to use the vm for then i have to reset the vm

i would recommend to try the update with an v10 version...

i would also activate debugging on the vmware tools: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100787...

this could help identify your problem...
