Virtual Machine with Multiple split Disk Files.

Hello All,

I have downloaded Virtual Machine in which their are 2 disk file (.vmdk file) which has been split in to multiple disk files (attached screen shot.. file name -- disk_details.jpg).Now my concern is whenever am trying to power on the VM it's giving an error (attached screen shot.. file name -- Mapr VM Error.jpg). Need your all help to resolve this issue. Even I tried to merge all the split VMDK files in to a single VMDK but that also did not worked.

ESXi 5.1

CISCO UCS server

OS of VM Ubuntu 64.

Hi,

Try to convert your "sparse" vmdk into a supported vmdk.

According to this kb :VMware KB: Unable to power on a virtual machine with mounted sparse disks  .

Hi,
