Virtual Machine swaping even when host have enough memory resources

Hello,

My enviroment have an issue that I cannot figure out why some VMs are doing swap operation through hypervisor, even when hosts in VM cluster are not "suffering" from memory contention.

I tried to check memory limits, but all configs are set to "unlimited".

Anyone have an idea ?

Hello,

is your hypervisor doing the swapping? Or are the VMs swapping (which is completely normal even when they are virtualized - this is just how the OS ticks)? What is your total memory size per ESXi and how much is used? You might want to refer to a small research I did here: How much memory should be free for VMkernel? | VMXP
