Team,
I am facing problem with one VM. suddenly the VM got Un-Responsive and even I am not able to power Off the machine. It is taking very long time to power Off.
After analyzing the out put of esxtop I have noticed the below values for the VM. Kindly suggest your recommendation to resolve the issue with the help of the out put.
ID GID LWID NAME NWLD %USED %RUN %SYS %WAIT %VMWAIT %RDY %IDLE %OVRLP %CSTP %MLMTD %SWPWT
2426057 2426057 1358978 THOR 14 0.00 0.01 0.00 377.25 0.00 1022.28 0.00 0.00 0.00 1022.28 0.00
Note: Discussion successfully moved from VMware Knowledge Base to VMware ESXi 5
%MLMTD is The percentage of time the vCPU was ready to run but deliberately wasn’t scheduled because that would violate the “CPU limit” settings. If larger than 0 the world is being throttled due to the limit on CPU.
Check below KB if this helps.
VMware KB: Troubleshooting ESX/ESXi virtual machine performance issues
You are deffiently CPU restricted on that VM. Try reducing your vCPU count or removing some limits on that VM.
Here is a good guide with some thresholds you should try to maintain for best performance:
