Verifying an .ova file

I exported a VM to an .ova file from an ESXi standalone server.

Everything looked to work fine.

When I attempted to import the VM I was unable to import it.

It looks that the disk images are corrupted or unusable.

I attempted to extract the disk images from the .ova file with no success.

So, my queastion is: how can I ensure that the export to an .ova file was really successfully without performing an import?

Regards

Hi,

try to convert the OVA file into VMX using OVFTools. If it doesn't make you do the files are corrupt.

I usually use this system to understand if the exported files are good.

You can also try to create the virtual machine with OVFTools or VMware VCenter Converter, often some errors can be corrected and everything settles

this can be useful to you
