Vendor wants power management OFF: should I disable this on ESXI?

I looked at BIOS settings for the VM in question, and power management was off there, but is it wise to disable this setting, if the vendor insists that Power Management can hurt their app?

Is there a danger in disabling this?

It may be worth clarifying the vendor's intent. Depending on what the VM is intended to do, it may make more sense to disable power management on the HOST rather than for the VM. Our experience was that setting Power Management on our hosts to Static High-Performance improvement clock consistency significantly for one of our apps (dynamic power saving allows the CPU clock speeds to vary which may upset software that expects a consistent CPU frequency).
