VVMwareService Cpu spike on 2008 R2 Host coincides with RDP typing lag

I have a couple ESXi 4.0 hosts runing multiple Win 2008 R2 RDP Host/Terminal Servers

Users complain of frequent typing lags where multiple charactes typed don't show for a few seconds after typing.

This occurs on multiple TS boxes on different physical hardware.

I've been able to reproduce it and there are spikes of CPU activitly (50% load quick spikes) of VMWareService.exe when it happens.

disabling the service seems to make thigs worse and cause a general lag more frequent if smaller.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

We're planning on updating to U1 soon, but I doubt it's a magic bullet for this issue.

Actually updating to U1 might help make things better. 2008 R2 wasn't officially supported until Update 1 and a VMware Tools package with appropriate drivers is included. Using the correct video driver found in that VMware Tools package might help with the problems you're seeing.
