We have purchased a "VMware vSphere Essentials" kit. We would like to install the latest VMware version (5.5.0 update 2) on our Dell PowerEdge 630. Is there a Dell custom build .iso which we can use?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
it's available on the DELL website:

Thanks for your reply Tim. Yes, I found this version too - however, I was a little confused with the name as I thought an "ESXi" was the "free" hypervisor from VMware and we have now purchased a licensed version.
Hey,
no it's the right one.
The free hypervisor is named "vSphere Hypervisor" : http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere-hypervisor
But it doesn't matter, since all ESXi versions, even the free have the same installer. You unlock the features just by entering the license key.
What added value comes from using a custom ISO from Dell? I am doing a new build on a pair of Dell PowerEdge R720's and just used the ESXi 5.5 Update 2a ISO image from VMware.
Mostly integrated Dell drivers in the ISO.
