VMware network

Hi,

I have ESXI 6.0 Installed in HP Proliant DL380 Gen9 server.

My network settings, i used 2 NIC's connected on each VLAN from the cisco switch

VLAN 10 - For ESXI Management

                                   VLAN 20 - For VM's Server

Then i was confused when both two network are connected, the connection from VLAN 10 will be lost. So if i am going to use VLAN 10 i need to disconnect the cable of VLAN 20.

Why i can't used both networks at the same time?

Please help me, i might missing some settings. Thanks in advance

Hi,

please show us your ESXi network configuration and your switch configuration.

I guess you have something mixed up there. (Are you using trunked ports, do you tag the VLAN on the VMkernel interface?)

Hi,

As per your connections , you need to di  VLAN Trunking on both the  VLAN's.

As VLAN10 is your native vlan where you have installed Esxi, so after vlan trunking both the VLAN can communicate to each other.

VLAN trunking needed to be done at network level.

Thank you for all your reply.

i tried to workaround and i solved my issues. i restart the network management then from the vsphere client, i add new network and transferred all my vm server on that network.

now everything is working.

Thanks once again.
