Hi
I am trying to install the OSP VMware tools on Centos 6.
I've downloaded and installed and keys and setup the yum repo file, following the guide in the documentation, but when I run yum install vmware-tools I get one of two errors. Either:
http://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/5.0/rhel6/i686/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 404"
or occassionally
http://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/5.0/rhel6/i686/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 6 - "Couldn't resolve host 'packages.vmware.com'"
If I copy the URL into a browser it returns:
An error occurred while processing your request.
Reference #132.d963bc3.1316941827.21c1808d
Searching on this error there is nothing specific to the package I am trying to download but seems to indicate that it may have been removed? Centos 6 and ESXi 5 are both very much current so is this a transient problem at VMWare?
Also if I go and browse around on packages.vmware.com the url that seems to have data is:
packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/5.0/rhel6/i386
DNS lookups from the server never fail to resolve packages.vmware.com.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Mart
Have you tried with:
rpm --import http://packages.vmware.com/tools/VMWARE-PACKAGING-GPG-KEY.pub ?
