How can we build a VMware ESXi 5.5 on Poweredge 2900 using USB ?

We have been running 5.1 on this server for years. I see that its supported on a PowerEdge 2970, but what about a 2900? Can someone verify ESXi 5.5 will work on this server even though it is not officially supported by VMware?
