VMware 6.0 update 3 vDistributed Switch

Hello All,

we are running an VMware setup based on HPE Blade Technology and VMware 6.0 update 3.

The components are:

  • VMware ESXi 6.0 update 3 build 6921384
  • C7000 Enclosure Generation 2 and 3
  • HP ProLiant BL460c G9
  • Virtual Connect Flex10 and Virtual Connect FC 8GB720Port Modules
  • The VMware anagement Nwtwork runs over VMware vSwitches
  • The VM Production Network is running via VMware vDistributed Switches

Our issues is that several VMs are loosing their network connection. They can't be pinged and the VMs can't ping the Gateway. Normally a vMotion to another host will solve it. During our troubleshooting i have the following behaviour on the vDistributed Switch:

All our Networks, Switches and vDistributed Switches are setup with identical parameters, but they seem to work differently. One switch shoes no erros, but the other does show some Warnings.

I have no idea where this is coming from, any ideas?

Working vDitributed Switch:

Non working vDistributed Switch:

I am not sure what this indicates and if this is an issues at all.

However I need to know how this can be solved, from what I can see these settings seem to come from the network and are not settings done inside VMware, what do you think?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards

Eugen

Have a look on this VMware Knowledge Base

Also take look on existing configuration at virtual connect configured for shared uplink sets and VLANs for warnings and alerts.
