VMs connectivity issue after host reboot.

We rebooted our esxi host and after reboot we are getting issues, with the VMs connectivity hosted on that particular esxi only.

The issue is that some VMs are communicating on the network and some are not.

There are two host in the cluster, if we move the VMs on another host, VMs work fine.

Both the host has same configuration as far as physical networking and virtual networking configuration is concerned.

ESXi version : 4.1

You have mentioned that problem host networking configuration and good host networking configuration is same.

Issues appeared after host reboot and before that battery was replaced.

I am assuming something is wrong at the physical end itself.

Is that possible that you can shut-down the host again and get the network card reseated and power it back on and then test.

Because when battery replacement is done server is brought out of the rack, so I am assuming n/w card were not seated properly. I faced this type of issue once and I did same thing and things worked fine for me.

Hi ,

Check below article, it might help
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/529243be-85be-4ddc-89d1-231352a8f813/...

In above case whenever VMs get rebooted switched on, its creating problem

In your case same thing is happening when you reboot physical host

The issue may be because of Switches you have.

Please mark helpfull or correct if get issue resolved...thanks

Regards

Keshav
