VMs BSOD when created with more than one CPU cores

Hi, I have an esxi hypervisor on a DL380G5. Hypervisor is esxi 5.0 U3 (build 3086167). Cannot install 5.5 because the physical host supports until esxi 5.0.
When I power on a windows 7 VMs created with multicore cpu configuration (1 socket, 2 or more cores), randomly it shows BSOD reporting multi processor not supported. I figured out that this problem is related to the stepping model of physical cpus installed in the HP host. In fact if I set CPU affinity on the VM, telling it to use cores with the same stepping model, the vm boots always without BSODs.

This is a workaroud. Is there a solution?

Thank you,

Francesco B.

The problem is that the BIOS for VMWare OS on DL380 G5 is dated 2008. There are BIOS firmwares dated 2011 or 2012 but for Linux or Windows OSes. Any help on this?
