Dear all,
we are trying to convert an older server to a Virtual Machine.
We get this error:
Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported and/or invalid disk type 7.
Did you forget to import the disk first?Unable to create virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0
( and then the location )
I have searched in this site, but can not find a working solution.
I have used the latest VMWare Standalone Convertor 4.0.1
I have tested on the server:
- ESX 4.1
- ESX 4.0.0 (update1) build 208167
- ESXi 4.0.0 rel 193498
I have tried several options to create the VM, but I still get this error.
Normally this doesn't give an issue, but now I ran into one. Can someone please help us.
If any more information is needed, please ask. THANKS !

Thanks for the reply.
But I already read this one. Sorry but no working solution.
The solution for that matter was that they used an older VMWare Convertor.
We have used the latest one.
Thanks anyway.
Hi
it would help if you would tell us what you are trying to do EXACTLY ...
