VMWare 5.5 New Host access to NFS share

I've recently added a new 5.5u3 host to my VMWare system of only one other host. The existing host sees our NFS share that has been defined in VMWare vSphere web client, however, the new host does not see this NFS share. What am I missing? Do I need to define the NFS share for the new host?

Hi Brian,

Yes, you have to configure NFS share on the new host manually. Every host should be authorized by NFS server for read/write access which will happen when you configure to access the NFS.

We were seeing the NFS datastore as inaccessible. Everything looked right, so we went ahead and did a reboot. This seemed to set the datashare as now accessible. Why a reboot this time fixed it, I don't know.

Sometimes you may need to rescan for the datastore to appear.
