VMWARE ESXi 5.1.0 stuck in safe mode

We have a client that has a VMware ESXi 5.1.0 (VMKernel Release Build 799733) running windows server 2008 and it is now stuck in safe mode without networking and has it set to remember the boot settings. So is there anyway without whipping it to set it to regular boot mode so we can get access to it?

Boot it into a 2008 Install media.
Short after boot you get the option to launch a cmd.
Start the commandline and run a checkdisk against each NTFS partition.
Do NOT change other than the ISO-file to make sure you do not mess up any existing snapshot-chain.

May have missread your post ...
If you get the safe mode because you configured it to do that - why dont you live with that and after a slow boot without network adjust the settings and reboot ?
