VMNIC not taking DHCP

hello,

We have 1 ESXi host 5.5

1 Standard vSwitch > 1 Management Port > 1 VM network Port Group

1 VMNIC > Connected to Physical Switch on VLAN 140

2 VMs on same ESXi host

Static IP is working is assigned from VLAN 140

But when using DHCP > VM's nic says "Unidentified network"

Please suggest.

Thanks.

I figured out. DHCP is not configured for that VLAN, so only static IP.

while your VM is running with static IP, did you check that it's able to reach to the host where DHCP services are running?

Network works;

--> Static IP

--> Dynamic DNS

Network does not work;

--> Dynamic IP

--> Dynamic DNS
