Any ideas why we got following alert -message between 1 hour... This alert is also displayed in vSpehere Client Events lists.
I did not find reason for this but I hope that somebody can help me... ![]()
This alert "Error(1) saving state to /bootbank" is otherwise similar in every hour but cpu -number changes every hour...
are you using a USB as you OS disk? Some USB controllers appearently have problems with ESXi and they hang after some random time.
Look for previous entry in the log about some "USB timeouts"
You can usually resolve this by unplugging and plugging usb again, or you can play with esxcfg-moudle unloading and reloading the usb controllor module.
But. I gave up using USB disk as boot disk for this exact reason. They don't really cause a problem on the operation, but you can't modify any settings or do upgrade until you reboot it.
Thanks! Yes... We use SD-card as OS disk... We have to reboot ESXi and see what happens!
If I run "ls -l" command in bootbank directory on ESXi Shell I can see very mystical file and folder names.
We have also another similar system and there ls -l command in bootbank directory displays reasonable file and folder names.
