VMDK reporting as 0.00KB

We have an ESXi host running ESXi 5.0.0 and one of our VM's is reporting as Size 0.00KB and Provisioned 2,147,484,000.00KB.

The machine is running fine but we are trying to move it to a new host and when we use the VMware standalone converter we are getting the error ' Unable to obtain hardware information for the selected machine'.

The error is converter logs is Error 1 opening disk ://location of the vmdk.

Can anybody point me in the right direction to whats going on?

Does the VM have an active snapshot?

Okay. I had a similar issue once trying to migrate a Win 2008 machine which  turned out to be an access issue. I ran the Converter application "as administrator" and was able to migrate. Are you trying to migrate the VM locally? Or is the converter installed on a remote server? What OS is the converter machine installed on?

The converter is installed on 2008 server and ESXi host is on the same network. (i have already move one VM from this host to our vcenter)

I will try and run it with admin rights but i cant do this until 4.45pm today

Running the converter with admin rights has made no difference
